A letter from a client.
About 10 years ago, at the age of 40, I woke up so dizzy that I had to crawl to the bathroom to be sick. I went back to bed where I stayed for 3 days assuming that I was about to die with a brain tumor. I went through one year of testing that included blood work, EEG, EKG, stress tests, watching squiggly lines run across a wall while wearing funny glasses, hot air blown in my ears and various other exams, only to find out that I was dizzy. No kidding! I told them that when we started. I was treated by various doctors, ENT, Endocrinologist, Internist with various antibiotics and antihistamines. I even went through a procedure where they manipulated my head into various positions over a period of about 1 hour and then had me sleep sitting up with a foam collar on for two days. I tried various movement exercises with my eyes closed and with my eyes open, moving quickly, moving slowly. After all of this it was determined that I had vertigo. It could be controlled with a medication called meclizine. The meclizine put me to sleep. I had two choices: I could be dizzy or I could be asleep. I chose dizzy.
I learned to live with it. I knew that I would have to stop on occasion and let the dizzy feeling pass. I learned to drive with it. Sometimes people thought I was drunk because I couldn’t walk in a straight line. I got used to it.
About a year ago, Kenny suggested that he try working on me to see if he could help. After 4 or 5 sessions with him, I have been vertigo free. I tell everyone I hear about who has vertigo that they should try CranioSacral Therapy. It took a lot less time to cure the vertigo than the time it took to test for it, not to mention the years I lived with it!
She’s back on the bike, head up or head down
